Our Story
Rahaia was born from a mother’s love and a refusal to feel helpless. My youngest daughter suffered from eczema, and like any parent, I followed the doctors’ advice—medicated
creams, expensive lotions, one after another. As a physician, I understood that the medicated creams could quiet the symptoms for a while, but never for long. And the costly creams she tried never suited her skin; one by one, they were set aside and eventually ended up in the bin. After too many sleepless nights spent watching her itch and ache, I decided to learn something I had never done before. I enrolled in a soap-making class and fell in love with a simple idea: that you can choose every ingredient for the good it does. That spark led me to formal training at the School of Natural Skincare, where I went on to qualify in natural skincare, haircare, and soap making.
Over the next two years, I learned to create gentle, thoughtfully made products for my whole family. I saw then difference they made, and I began sharing them with family and friends. Their encouragement—and the change I witnessed in my own daughter—gave me the
courage to start Rahaia.

Why Rahaia
Every name carries a feeling, and ours begins with a single Arabic word: Raha (راحة) — comfort, rest, and ease.
Rahaia is derived from Raha, a word rooted in one of the most beautiful families in the Arabic language — one that also gives us rūḥ, the spirit, and rīḥ, the breath of the wind. It’s the word for the moment you finally let your shoulders drop, the relief of a worry lifted, the quiet calm of feeling truly at ease.
We softened that word into Rahaia — a name meant to be felt as much as spoken. It holds the soul of its origin while flowing gently, like the very sense of calm it describes. And it captures everything we set out to create small, soothing rituals that bring comfort within reach, no matter how busy the world becomes.

About the Founder
Hi, I’m Dr. Shahiya Bijin—a physician, a mother of four, and a certified formulator trained at the School of Natural Skincare in skincare, haircare, and soap making.
For over 17 years, my professional life has been dedicated to healthcare—improving quality, preventing fraud, and contributing to a more sustainable system. At its heart, that work was always about helping people, and today that same purpose simply guides me in a new way. I’ve come to believe that the products we use every day should be made with intention, care, and ingredients chosen for a reason. What began as a personal passion has grown into a calling.
Every formulation I create is designed with a purpose—to address a concern, support well-being, or offer a moment of calm in a busy world. Whether it’s a soothing soap, a nourishing body butter, or a restorative hair treatment, my goal is always the same: to create something that genuinely helps someone. Each product is handcrafted in small batches, blending science, nature, and care—my way of sharing the blessings and knowledge I’ve been given, one meaningful product at a time.
